The objective of the “Substitution of Natural Gas by Waste Heat using the new Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) of Sudamericana de Fibras S.A.” project is to recover the waste heat generated by a thermal power plant operated by a neighbouring company for the cogeneration purposes of providing electric power and heat to Sudamericana de Fibras S.A. (SdF) dry-spun acrylic fiber plant. The project has a GHG emission reduction potential of 53 859 ton CO2e per year, including one year of pre-CDM VERs.  It is now under validation.
