ÉcoRessources developed a quantification framework for forest management offset projects geared towards the evolving Canadian compliance market. The report - mandated by the Canadian Council of Forest Ministers and Natural Resources Canada - analyzed and compared different existing approaches to GHG quantification, baseline establishment, additionality, leakage, and permanence in the context of forest management, notably by comparing approaches used under the VCS, the CAR, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI and the Alberta offset system. The report was aimed at project developers interested in developing protocols for forest management offset projects in the Canadian context.
