Frédéric Gagnon-Lebrun is a co-founder of ÉcoRessources Carbone and is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and business planning of ÉcoRessources. Mr. Gagnon-Lebrun provides advice and insight to project teams, especially on carbon finance, GHG management strategies and regulatory advisory services.

He has more than nine years of experience on carbon markets and climate change issues and projects. Over the years, he has worked with project developers, providing feasibility assessments, project documentation and advice on carbon market opportunities. He also offers support to corporate clients in the negotiation of carbon credit transactions and the assessment of regulatory risks. He has given numerous talks and training workshops on emissions trading, offset project development and the CDM process. Another area of his work is capacity building for climate change negotiators.

Prior to joining ÉcoRessources, Mr. Gagnon-Lebrun worked as a consultant on climate change policy and climate-related investments at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). In this capacity, he analyzed climate and energy policies implemented by OECD countries and reviewed documentation of proposed CDM projects to analyze the composition of the CDM portfolio. He also worked as a Climate Change Policy Analyst at the Quebec Ministry of Environment where he analyzed the implications of the Canadian Emissions Trading Scheme for Quebec industries.

He holds a B.Sc. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from McGill University, and an M.Sc. in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics (LSE). He is also an associate of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). Mr. Gagnon-Lebrun speaks English, French and Spanish fluently.
