Derek De Biasio, ÉcoRessources’ Vancouver-based business representative, has 20 years of management advisory experience and has completed more than 140 consulting assignments. He has a rare combination of extensive management consulting expertise and experience with GHG emissions regulation and offset projects, having worked in the GHG and sustainable development areas for almost a decade. He specializes in: (1) origination and development of North American offset projects across sectors including forestry, waste management, fuel switching and energy efficiency; (2) GHG emissions, allowances, and offsets management strategies; (3) policy and economics analysis on various GHG management issues; and (4) carbon finance.

Mr. De Biasio has a thorough knowledge of major western Canadian industries, including forestry, energy, agri-food, mining, high technology and transportation. His educational and professional qualifications include: MPA degree from Harvard University; BA degree in economics from UBC; and CMC designation from the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of BC.

He also has vaste experience in helping companies and government organizations create and implement sustainable development strategies, management systems, tools and programs. He designs and implements solutions that address clients’ strategic and practical requirements — from determining the feasibility of green energy projects, to developing marketing strategies for eco-products, to analyzing cost of production impacts of alternative sustainability approaches, to triple bottom line projects, to developing sustainability quality assurance systems. His solutions combine the goal of sustainable development with delivering stakeholder value through improved management of risk, reduced input cost and revenue generation.

Mr. De Biasio’s educational and professional qualifications include a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of British Columbia as well as a CMC designation from the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of British Columbia.
