Evidence of the Socio-Economic Importance of Polar Bears for Canada
ÉcoRessources Consultants has been mandated by our client to estimate the socio-economic importance of polar bears for Canada.
The main objective of this study is to establish baseline socio-economic values of polar bears for Canada. Methods such as benefit transfer and market price value are used for this purpose. A second objective is to determine values of current and potential economic activities in areas where polar bears are found and to develop a methodology to estimate the economic impact of changes in polar bear populations or habitat.
