Louis-Samuel Jacques, Agrifoods and environment project manager

Louis-Samuel Jacques has extensive experience in applied agrifoods and environmental economics. He has been either the lead or contributor on many studies focusing on areas such as the marketing of agrifood products; the evaluation, improvement and implementation of effective and efficient policies, the analysis of policies in other countries, the strategic development of agrifood sectors, the economic impact of various activities and industries, and the economic evaluation of environmental goods and services (EG&S).

Before joining ÉcoRessources, he worked on the evaluation of production costs, the economic evaluation of the environmental impacts of intensive animal husbandry and
the economic models aimed at assessing the local economic impacts of climate change. During his three-year stay in New Brunswick, he has been the manager of the Local Products Center, where he helped promote local farm produce and contributed to several projects as a consultant. He was also appointed to the N.B. Agricultural Council Board of Directors and, while in office, contributed to several projects as a consultant.

Louis-Samuel has a M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics and a B.Sc. in Agronomy, from Laval University in Quebec City (with some courses completed at Moncton University).
He was also enrolled in undergraduate studies in political science at Passau University in Germany. He has mastered many quantitative and qualitative analysis methods and speaks and writes French, English, Spanish and German.
