Catherine Lessard , Analyst

Catherine Lessard holds a Baccalaureate degree in Agricultural Economics from Université Laval. During her studies, she worked for Agriculture and Agri-food Canada and for the Centre for Research in the Economics of Agrifood (CREA) as a research assistant. She also completed an internship at La Financière agricole du Québec where she conducted a preliminary analysis of a method of loss evaluation for crop insurance. Before working for ÉcoRessources Consultants, she was a project manager for La Financière agricole du Québec – International Development. As a member of the ÉcoRessources team, she actively participated in the realization of the mandate aiming at recommending a new marketing system for live cattle in N.B., as well as another one aiming at doing a thorough SWOT analysis of the North American beef industry for a client in Quebec. Catherine Lessard also conducted GIS analysis for a project aiming at assessing the logistical costs associated with second generation biofuel feedstocks for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. She is currently a graduate student in Resource Economics at University of Maine where she conducts a research project on economic impacts of wind energy.

Her areas of interests are mainly energy and agriculture economics, economics of environment and international development. She is fluent in written and spoken French and English. Catherine Lessard also has advanced knowledge of Spanish, German and Portuguese.
