Jean Nolet, President

Jean Nolet founded ÉcoRessources in January 2004 and has since been managing the work undertaken by the company’s team of analysts and senior associates. In the past 18 years, he gained an in-depth understanding of environmental and agricultural issues from an economic perspective.

Jean Nolet has worked as a consultant, university researcher and economist at the Quebec Government. He specializes in economic and policy analyses on climate change, energy, environmental and agrifood issues, and has conducted numerous market studies and economic impacts assessments. Most notably, he has conducted several analyses of the factors influencing the competitiveness of different agricultural sectors, as well as analyses of the economic impacts of policies aiming to mitigate climate change.


Jean Nolet holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Quebec in Montreal and a MSc in Applied Economics, with a specialization in agri-economics, from Laval University. He is also an Associate to the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).
